You don't have to go far to enjoy the great outdoors. Shawnee is virtually surrounded by parks and trails. 

Shawnee Mission Park, the county's largest park, boasts 1,250 acres of recreational choices.  This multi-use park offers archery, tennis courts, picnic shelters, horseback & nature trails.  Fising enthusiasts can troll the park's 150-acre lake which also features a swimming beach, bathouse & marina.

Those in search of more intimate park settings can find plenty from the 32 parks managed by the city.
