The City of Shawnee and the City of Merriam each year sponsor the Flags for Freedom, a patriotic display celebrating our freedom and honoring our Veterans. Over 2,000 American flags will be displayed in downtown Shawnee and downtown Merriam. This event is organized by citizens and business owners partnering with the Shawnee Downtown Business Association.
