Now that the smoke has cleared from 2010, the grills will fire up again for the Annual Shawnee Great Griller's State Championship Barbeque Contest at Shawnee Town.

In addition to some of the best barbeque in the Midwest, there will be activities for the whole community to enjoy. Fun Services will be on-site with slides and games for the kids on Friday night starting at 6 p.m. and Saturday morning starting at 10 a.m.

The public is invited to vote on their favorite barbeque brisket. The fee for judging is $5 and entitles the "judge" to sample over 60 different cook team entries and determine who is the "People's Choice".
