Mission of the Shawnee Convention and Visitor's Bureau

The Shawnee CVB operates under their by-laws and within a framework of the CVB Committee.

Appointments to the CVB Committee come as recommendations from the CVB Committee for appointment by the mayor and approval by the Governing Body. The CVB Committee has been expanded over the years with the growing need for more representation from the business/tourism community as a whole and is composed of representatives from tourism-related businesses to promote tourism of the Shawnee area-- its hotels, attractions, restaurants and related businesses, to make an economic impact in the community.

Simply put, the CVB’s direct mission is to grow the volume of visitors, and the expenditures per visitor, to our area.
